This album has a name that I unknowingly stole from something that already existed. Oh well! Better than the times I've knowingly (mzmr) stolen from other things.
So much of this album includes me just playing around with having a mic. Corroding Battery Acid, which is a callback to the previous album, contains an edited sample of me breathing into the mic. Why? Because I'm fucking stupid. I hate that song so much because of that, plus the rest being so drawn out. I guess you could say I have no patience for it! It's Not a Third Eye Experience, which is named that because this album was originally gonna be about some guy who does drugs *cough cough* Apocalypse Weekend *cough* Anyways, the song ends with me padding out time with me just buzzing into the mic to make it clip and editing that. The song also starts off with a riff from the HangOver album, my first one. I hate that one though so I'm not going to go find out which song it's from. You can torture yourself if you wanna figure that out.
Anyways, this album starts off with one of my favorite songs from this album, A Well Deserved Reward, which is about dying and being sent to Hell, because there was some guy who I apparently really hated at the time. This album in general has a lot of songs I really like. One Third of January is about exactly what the title suggests, that one's cool. The third song is a reference to a video about imaginary friends which contained a joke about the person explaining to people who knew them that their imaginary friends had died.
Charming was originally going to be called Prince Charming but my father knows about my youtube channel! So instead I made it incredibly vague who it was about. They are also the same subject as the one from A New Start from the previous album, as well as One; Two; One Again from Submit 2 Mass Appeal. The 7th track is me coming out with a banger (pun intended).
I Saw a Target was another reminant from the album being about a guy doing drugs and having some kind of third eye experience. That was when I got the idea to retroactively turn Prophet the song into a trilogy, with this being the sequel.
Now, on the other hand. I hate a lot of the songs on this album too. Long Over Her/Long Over Due was about me trying (and failing miserably) to get over the girl from Nevermind, She Was a Snake. I'm actually, for the most part, geniunely over her now, but damn it took a while. This song was basically just me lying about being able to get over someone, and it didn't even come out as good as I wanted it to.
Corroding battery acid and third eye experience just suck. Posthumous Gentle Interstate Toll Booth is basically some guy dies and is about to get to heaven, only to be edged and sent straight to Hell. Ironically, the song gives the opposite feeling, where it only gets interesting once the person is sent to Hell. The rest is just plain boring.
So anyways, this album is actually pretty good, despite me feeling kinda uninspired musically during this time period.
The art for this album absolutely sucks though, but the background is actually so cool that it legitimately carries so hard.
